Independent Book Publishing

Published and launched like it came from a major house.

I’ll help you bring your book to the world, and keep it yours.

Publishing Roadmap

STRATEGY ONLY

  • Your book’s positioning: what it is, who it’s for, and how to describe it in one sentence

  • Your publishing path laid out: formats, ISBNs, rights, pricing, and where to distribute

  • A step-by-step launch plan you can carry out yourself or hand to any team

Publish & Launch

MANUSCRIPT TO LAUNCH

  • Cover, interior design, and ebook formatting that stand beside any traditional release

  • Distribution set up across Amazon, IngramSpark, and bookstores, with your metadata and description written for you

  • A launch with real momentum: early readers, outreach, and a marketing strategy

  • I manage every step and every collaborator, from manuscript to launch day

  • Outside costs like copyediting, proofreading, ISBNs, printing, and ads are separate. I’ll recommend where it’s worth investing.

Dr. Tom Rusk
Psychiatrist and author

After five traditionally published self-help books and two full-episode appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dr. Tom Rusk chose to publish his final work independently, at 88.

It’s a legacy book that weaves his own life story into the wisdom he’s spent decades sharing. As his book coach, I’m working with him to hone the manuscript, shaping his story and sharpening every chapter. From there, I’m guiding it all the way to launch, from positioning and design to author portraits, distribution, and the launch itself.

The goal is simple: a book that carries the same quality and reach as everything he’s published before, while staying entirely his.

Coming 2027

Bear Boy
My own book, independently published, with a foreword by Jane Goodall

At 13, I started a campaign to free two bears, Brutus and Ursula, from a cramped zoo enclosure. I raised $250,000 and helped build them a new home. Years later, I turned that story into Bear Boy.

I had a literary agent and offers from traditional publishers, but none of them matched my vision for the book. So I parted ways with my agent and published it independently. I wrote the book and led every part of bringing it to life: illustrators, designers, and editors, then the PR and the launch. Jane Goodall wrote the foreword and said she “simply couldn’t put it down.”

Bear Boy has sold thousands of copies and is available at Barnes & Noble and independent bookstores across the US, Australia, and the UK.

That’s the path I help authors take: a book that looks and sells like a traditional release, on your terms.
